My '03 Yamaha PW50 will not idle with the choke off.
Took me about 1000 kicks (seemed like 1000 anyway) and multiple adjustments to the idle & air screw to get it started. Now it'll run until you turn off the choke, then it idles up and dies. It's also hard to start after it sits for awhile. Any ideas?

sucking air, vacuum leak, check carb mounting make sure its tight or replace carb gasket. it obviously needs more fuel than normal , hence the choke being needed.

I'll check it out when I get home. The bike hasn't been wrecked or ridden that much. Not sure why I'm getting problems all the sudden.

My 50 use to do the same thing, I could be sitting there at a light and it would just shut off!!! But thanks to Grand Prix Motoring they fixed that for me!!!

Ok...
Pulled the carb and used the red tube that comes with the carb cleaner to spray out all orifices in the carb. Also drained the fuel from the tank and replaced with fresh fuel. Reinstalled carb then backed the air screw 1 1/4 turns out and it started on the first kick!
