You guys can not leave motorcycles outside in apt complexes, my friend lives at an apt but he keeps his bike in a storage can, which is the best and safest way to ensure tat it wont get stolen, if you live on the 1st floor of an apt, bring the bike inside, never leave it on the parking lot because the thieves will take it.

Lol. That's been posted over a billion times and these dummies still leave them sitting. It's a shame to give someone your bike.

Yeah something's going down alright. People leave their shit outside and it gets stolen. Ignition lock is nothing for someone who has ever installed one. Cables/disc locks help but thats only going to slow someone down.

Really sorry to hear you lost your ride though. Seriously

You are probably lucky.

When in San Marcos, the bike comes into the living room (at night so the neighbors dont tattle)

When in houston, it either sits either in the garage, or on the back patio if I am too lazy to open the garage.

That is G1xx3rGuy08 (Diego) on this forum. He is indeed having a baby (believe his lady may have given birth either Thanksgiving or day prior), and does have the '08 Gixxer and also looking for a more practical vehicle due to the baby thing.

Since I'm not a bike theif I can't really tell you what "usually" happens after one gets jacked, but there are some things you might try.

Try looking online. I understand you can get quite a bit by stripping it and selling individual parts, so try looking on e-bay, craigslist, cycle trader etc and look for anything familiar or suspicious. Don't know where any junk- / scrapyards are but you might try those too if you can find them, or maybe some used bike dealerships (don't know what kind of process they go through in verifying titles etc.)

There's one local group that purchases clean frames in Dallas, ships them here, swaps everything over then sends the bike back up to Dallas to be sold. They junk the frames from what I was told/learned in a river/lake nearby(not sure where exactly I had forgotten the name.)

There's an international group in Houston that steals the bikes, takes off the front wheel, seat, hand controls and license plate and then ships the bike overseas to be sold. Disassembled that little bit a bike/car doesnt have to be registered on the box, its simply 'parts.'

Finding your bike/getting it back or catch any of these groups "red handed" only gets you the bottom end guy; the real organizers keep their hands clean. Sad but true; they arent going anywhere, and they get better everytime they steal a bike/one gets caught and gets a slap on the wrist for being a bad dirty lil thief. And no, cops will not come to investigate even if you identify your bike in some cases(from personal experience.) I'd recommend if you find and verify something you mention to dispatch "theft in progress."

No Im not a thief but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night. You can authenticate my experience w one of the oldest threads on here w my stolen busa(for the newer members.)
