I have a 2005 R6. I have to replace my tires, and have questions on removing rear wheel? What are the steps? Thanks for your help

Support the bike on a stand, remove the axle nut, remove the rear brake caliper and the caliper stay bolt. Remove the axle and drop the wheel down, remove the chain from the sprocket, it's easier to do if the bike is in neutral.
Be careful not to lose any spacers, pay attention to how they go in.
Installation is the reverse of disassembly, don't forget to torque everything to spec and to adjust your chain.

Thank you for your assistance. Do you happen to have the specs on the torque?

just take it to patrick and let him do it, otherwise you run the risk of letting him or someone else fixing it after you've screwed it up doing it yourself. I'm sure that he'll let you watch the process so that you may do it yourself on the next tire change.

I have an '05 R6 and it really is as easy as Patrick explained. Much easier than other bikes I've helped with. Look in your manual for the procedure and torque specs, thats where I found it. Make sure you have a torque wrench. If you do it yourself MAKE SURE you put it back on the same way you took it off, and make sure it's tracking straight or you could spend more money to have Patrick fix the problems it can cause than it would have cost you to let him do it to start with.

you can balance your own tires with two jackstands and the sticky weights. besides the rear isn't that important to have balanced so long as you are close.
