Im looking to just build muscle and loose a little Belly Fat. Im 6'2'' and 275, looking to get down to 250 or so but turn it into muscle. Thanks for any help

You could always try the p90x. or check out this web site tpgbr1.blogspot.com (http://tpgbr1.blogspot.com)
This is a guy that i started doing workouts with. He calls it cross fit. They workouts normally don't last longer than 1hr. he uses mostly body weight but some weights are include. I would go to this 1-2 times a week along with my normal MTThF routine.

The strong lift 5x5 workout seems similar in purpose to the fat burning furnace workouts that I had looked at but goes with what seems like a completely different workout routine.
I'm about to start a biggest loser contest with my wife so I've been looking for workouts too. My problem is an inconsistent shift work schedule so I've been looking for something where the workouts are fairly short (1 hour max) and will help reduce body fat.

My fitness professor told me that fat only dissolves when your heart is elevated for at least 20 minutes. So you should workout out 20-60 minutes @ least 3-5 times a wk (more if you'd like). You must workout out 60-80% of your max heart rate for fat to even dissolve. Under 60%, won't happen. To calculate your max hr is 220-your age. 65% is a good rate because it is like a lite jog which allows you to last longer. The duration & intensity is what determines your fat burn. The longer you can last the better. The higher the intensity you workout like 90% makes you more bulky because you are targeting fast twitch muscles similar to a sprinter. The lower intensity workout makes you more tone and lean because you are targeting the slow twitch muscles similar to a marathon runner. Make sure you get the appropriate amount of fiber, nutrients etc. She said, everytime you exercise make sure you burn at least 500 calories. Then in your daily diet try to reduce your caloric intake by 500 cals. That way ever 9-12 days you are losing pounds... because each pound is 3500 calories. If you do not eat enough & among other things.... you are losing muscle not fat. Like I said, you can only lose fat when your heart is elevated because it takes alot of energy to burn fat.

the exercises aren't too different. most of them work multiple body parts instead of isolating a single part. i did the p90x, which was great, but it was too long each day and I felt tired all the time.
i do each stronglifts workout A and B once a week for a little over an hour each day. no dedicated cardio or special diet. it's been less then a month so far and I'm happy with the progress.

You can't both lose weight and gain muscle at the same time. They are two seperate things.
Also, 6 pack abs are made in the kitchen. Nutrition is key. If you workout hard and eat like crap, you get a half assed result.
i also support the poster that mentioned Crossfit. But that is because that is what I choose to do. It is definately not for everyone.

I meant pounds of fat. Yes, simultaneously you are gaining weight due to the density of your muscle. however the more muscles you have the higher your metabolism is even at a resting rate. You measure by inches, not by weight.
