Diet to lower tryglicerides.

SO.....since my tryglicerides levels are sky high I need to put together some kind of diet to lower them and keep them low.

I'm going back to the gym and don't drink sodas, so I'm good there, and will quit drinking alcohol for a while when I'm done with my last six pack of beer in the fridge.

My main thing right now is snacks, I digest my food pretty quickly and less than an hour after eating I'm hungry again. :angry7:

High trigylcerides are generally caused by a diet too rich in carbs. Whatever you can do to get things like white bread and sugars out of your diet will go a long way to lowering your triglycerides. Also, omega 3 fatty acids help too. Either take cod liver oil caps or, if you're into drinking protein shakes, add some flaxseed oil into the shake.

First a doctor should have gave you a solid diet plan, second any information I give is just recommendations to use at your own risk. Haha we use to have to follow prescription diets for patients in physical therapy and weight loss it was not fun. You really can lower these simply IF you are tanking carbs all day, but in general high triglycerides means your overall out of shape in general majority of patients being treated for it were pretty much on weight loss programs to get them more active. SO stay away from diuretics, get a good diet plan and start being more active! To stay full protein can help what snacks are you using now?

Wife had her doctor say she has high trigs, told her to take Niacin every day along with an Omega complex (sams has a good one with flax oil)
