bike: 01 gsxr 6
problem: it just started out the blue tonight .. once again when I turn my bike off its dead as fck. New stator new rectifier.
Now it gets tricky, after a push start the bike runs, but the gauges dont work. the lights all do, but the speedo area doesnt. Here and there it flickers but it never stays on.
I can ride my bike forever no problems it wont shut off, but the second i turn it off push start here i come
ideas ?
loose ground ? dead battery ? bike a pos that needs to get blown up
i want to blow this damn bike up already
thx

my 2 cents: its probably just a loose wire somewhere. they can be a major pain in the rear to track down.

My vote would be a ground...sometimes the gauge cluster on my 929 goes off, and I've gotta wiggle the cluster-ground plug around for a second, and then it comes back on.
Were you the dude at ASI tonite push-starting?

When you jumped it off the car was it running? If so, the amperage output of the cars alternator may have damaged the reg / rec.
As far as your problem, it could be the plug going into the meter, or possibly the one at the keyswitch or starter relay.
Look at the pins inside the plugs also in order to make sure they are making good contact / not pushed out.
Check your battery terminals and negative cable.
Once the bike is running, is the charging system putting out enough?

yeah i had this problem before and didnt know what it was. i mean i changed the rect. but it end up being one of the wire that hook up the the rectifier. after i rewire it, it work great.
