View Full Version : Stolen Yamaha R6

So, my friend's 2006 Yamaha R6 was stolen last week. My buddies had a security camera set-up outside to watch the S2000 and the R6.

Here is the video with the scumbag stealing the bike.

I have ridden his bike a few times so I remember what it looks like. It's the Yamaha blue with some orange LEDs in certain places. Also, he dropped the bike once so the right brake lever has a really crazy curve to it. It almost looked like a custom brake lever. Doubt we will see the bike again, just wanted to share the vid.

This took place in SW Houston. This happened off Wilcrest between Westheimer and I-10.

At :15 into the video you see lights reflect of my friend's Honda S2000. At around 1:00 you see the scumbag appear and proceed to steal the bike. Once he is gone from view, not much else happens in the video.

I have a feeling this is the guy that stole Mr. Gonzalez's bike from the info I have gathered. If he's not I apologize to him. This may be the same guy in the video. On his myspace all of his bikes are yami's.

Maybe he's dyslexic also. If what I think is right the definition sure fits him.

Sorry about the loss. That's one reason why I put a bigass, bright orange lock on my front rotor, at least they would have to pick the bike up to take it, and it's no lightweight.

wow, another "stunna" "wheelie king" that can only do power wheelies on the freeway and runs off onto the median .....

power wheelies are the only way I do them, but atleast i'm honest about it - balance point freaks me the hell out.

Sucks, hope they catch the scumbag.

For future reference steering locks only slow them down a bit.

There's several suggestions I'd make for anyone who has to park their bike outside:

1) Park the bike facing the security camera, that way the police can get a longer / clearer look at the scum bags face.

2) Lock the bike to the pole to the left of it with a Kryptonite or TiMax chain.

3) Put a Xena disc alrm lock on the front rotor.

4) Put a cover on the bike.

Those 4 things, costing less then $300.00 may have allowed him to keep his bike, and they will typically make a would be thief look elsewhere for easier pickings.

Lowjack with early warning would have helepd as well, and he'd most likely have his bike back.

Hopefully he had full coverage and they catch the thief.

Damn that sucks to see this happen cause it makes it not safe anywhere... I hope they caught him or what goes around comes around three times worst to him.

Maybe you should print out a piece of paper saying "you are being recorded by security cameras" and just tape it to the tank.

Doubt they give a shit. A better investment would be a two way alarm and a shotgun I think. :D

I am thinking thieves look better with big ass holes in them.

Wow that video was just gut wrenching  I sorry for your friends loss of the bike, but hopefully the video helps the police in the case. I never knew that it was that easy to bust the steering lock. At first I thought I was going to see them pick it up and carry it away. I hate thieves with a passion. Best of luck to your friend and the recovery of his bike. And thanks for posting up the video, just goes to show your bike is never safe anywhere.

I simply cant imagine why you'd park your bike outside witout at least a cheap lock...

I got mine disk locked, covered, the cover is locked to the bike, and an alarm.

Actually there are 2 alarms. One is the disk lock itself.

Cover was $40, lock for the cover to the wheel - $12 (could be easily cut thru, but still helps), disk lock $65.

I think those 3 things are the most important you could have. The second alarm is just added.

It was... :(

Also, to be quite frank, I knew it was a matter of time before that bike was stolen. I honestly don't know why he didn't invest in some kind of security system on the bike. A 2 way alarm, a better lock, something.

So a few people have asked me how I got the info I did. Here was a message I sent to Mr. Gonzalez:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
2005 Yamaha R1

I emailed the seller of the '05 white R1 on CL partly to see if it may be your bike but also b/c I was genuinely interested in it if it was legit.

I asked him how many miles it had, if he had the title, and if he could send more pics of the bike.

His response: the bike has 31xxx, I am selling it for what I owe and then I will have the title

Kind of weird to me (it's an '05 and he still owes $4,700?). He did not send any other pics. I looked him up. Here is his myspace: http://www.myspace.com/realist_villian . He has better pics on there so why not better or more pics of the bike?

I asked him for the VIN. It's been over 24 hours and no response. (He responded to my first email within a couple hours).

Not sure if this is of any help to you, but just an fyi. I'm not interested in buying the bike anymore even if it isn't stolen.

Here is the CL listing:
http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/mcy/1462072737.html
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mr. Gonzalez told me the bike had 30k - 31k miles on it.

So to the dum fukk that had this to say
does it matter lol
they f'ing match ...that's why!

and of course the guy has not responded several days later with a vin, pics, or anything. If he owed $4700 to wherever he bought it from wouldn't it make sense for the buyer to just take over payments?

probably the same mofos who jacked my bike...parted it out on about 6 different sites. contacted the police to update my report and got the "we'll notify an investigator" bs response. face it, this is houston, police won't help us much...they're time is spent more on the "real" crime of our rising murder rate. only words of advice i can give you...look on ALLLLLLL the websites, stuntlife.com CL Ebay and any of the yamaha sites they have. my $hit was posted on all of them with the same cell #. next time they'll get a taste of some copper from my 9. get some justice like this lady! http://www.khou.com/news/pregnant-woman-shoots-burglary-suspect-69583407.html

As someone else said, I suggest you check "allofcraigs" and ebay for this bike.

Whenever it seems to be a 1-man steal, he might just try to sell it himself instead of parting it or whatever.

Wish I lived closer to Houston to devote time to the bait bike program.

I see fantastic bikes parked outside of homes here where I live... and none of them get snatched.

I left my key in the cruiser for about 4 rainy days last winter. It had the cover over it, disk lock and cable to the post though. I went to look for the keys on the next sunny day and coudn't find them. Tore up my place. Finally decided to check the bike and there they were.
