View Full Version : 24 HOUR FITNESS (Webster) - Don't touch my shit

This morning I decided to ride the bike to gym like I normally do and when I get there, I park near the front door and leave my jacket on the tank and my helmet/gloves on the grips. As I am done with gym, I walk out to find only my bike - gloves, helmet and jacket are missing. So I am thinking to myself, "oh great... :gesture: my shit got stolen". I walk inside to talk to the receptionist dude to find my jacket and helmet sitting on the counter...apparently, they thought it belonged to someone else even though it was on MY bike.
So someone actually withdrew my jacket/helmet from my bike to bring it inside (which at this point, I consider stealing) because they think it belongs to someone else? There's only 1 ****ing bike outside and it's pretty obvious its mine if I am walking inside with a tankbag, riding jeans and squeaky-as-fk A* boots :banghead:
Don't touch people's shit. :yeahno:

Isn't it sad? As if walking around looking like an asshat in gear + tankbag wasn't enough...cant go anywhere without people fking with shit. I hope the people that touched my shit got staph infection juice all over them.
Maybe Im over-reacting but there was no reason to touch anything on my bike period. Common sense would dictate that but apparently that's missing from this particular gym. I don't go opening people's car doors and taking out shit that I *think* belongs to someone else, or accusing other people of being some low class theif.
I don't talk (or even smile) with anyone there and mind my own business and expect the favor to be returned.

ok.....just an idea but did you think that someone saw everything and thought "oh crap, that's gonna get stolen, since its parked right here in front of the gym then the owner is inside I bet so I'll leave this stuff w/ the recptionist"
If someone wanted to fukk w/ you they could have taken one glove, or everything. It jsut sounds like someone was trying to help you.

Perhaps but its not helpful touching other peoples things where they are, especially if they dont know the person yet alone leave a note or message as to what they did and why they did it. I dont go into stranger's cars and leave there stereos or radar detectors with the receptionist because I *think* it's unsafe. It's uncalled for, and the receptionist dude didn't give me a proper explaination as to why my things were moved so who knows.
I will say, in hindsight, that it is possible that someone may have went through my jacket and didn't find anything so they dropped it on the ground, and then someone else may have brought it to the receptionist thinking it was lost or something...that's the best case scenario.
Because of this, I now just leave my jacket/helmet with the receptionist inside the gym just to be safe. I am trying not to draw any attention to myself when I go inside the gym...I am trying not to look like a poser lol
I hate some of the idiots I see at that gym.

usually i just carry my stuff to the locker room and lock it up. i feel a lot better about a $600 helmet and $300 jacket when its locked safely away.

This is another reason I just drive to the gym - no gear to deal with. No need to worry about the bike wandering off, etc.

+a million you got off lucky, atleast a good person was out there looking after your stuff, who cares if he touched it, why did you think your gear would be safe outside on your bike while you work out?

I started doing that but its very incovenient. I have to use 2 lockers and have a shitload of stuff to lockup...and I have to come back to get my tankbag after lunch. I wish they would just let me leave a dufflebag with a few days worth of clothes, sneakers and protein powder there so I wouldnt have to lug my shit around everyday.

Common sense would dictate that but apparently that's missing from this particular gym.
Common sense would dictate you didn't leave $1k worth of gear out in the open in a parking lot, but apparently that's missing from this particular person.

So you're really going to try to justify someone touching your belongings without permission?
If I wanted my gear inside the gym, I would have brought it inside.

Why the f*ck would you leave your gear sitting out on your bike?
Thats just a good as giving it to the theif. If your too lazy to bring the gear in with you then leave the bike at home. Stupid part on your half IMO.

Im letting it dry off and my bike is parked infront of the gym doors. Inside the gym is a sweathouse full of all kinds of airborne crap I dont want residing in my gear.

DO you take a shower after your workout? HOw often do you wash your gear??
Anyways. All I will add is don't leave your gear unsecured.

I normally wouldnt take a shower at the gym after a workout but after my staph infection, I decided I better. So now I take a shower after every workout everyday.
I have never washed or cleaned any of my gear...ever! It's been 6 months lol...
Yeah I hear you on leaving it unsecured. There have been a lot of transient/homeless looking people in the area, more so since its right next to a Specs. I asked the new manager of that branch if I could leave a few days worth of clothes behind in a duffle bag and he said no...so yeah, I will have to trek with it each and everyday. I hate having to bring a tank bag and having to stop by to pick it up again later in the day.

This idea comes from Sebastian on here;
He brings a very thin bike lock that he can spin up and put under the seat of his 650r... he puts the bike lock cable through his rear frame, sleeves and helmet...
Just a thought.

It doesn't matter...I dont ride my bike to gym anymore. I am tired of dealing with dirty old men walking around the gym bathrooms naked, filthy showers, only 4 hangs for 4 stalls and no doors, walking with my shit in and out of gym and then having to take a 2nd trip later in the afternoon to pick up my shit...
I already asked a new manager there if I could just leave a duffle bag with a weeks worth of clothes and he said no. So now, I just drive everyday to and from gym (15mi/each way) and then go home to take a shower in MY bathroom with NO naked old men walking around and then gear up to motorbike to lunch.
I just thought it would be nice to enjoy riding to gym but being discrete about it but it's too complicated to enjoy.

Honestly, I'm of the mind that if you're capable of successfully operating a motorcycle after your workout, you're not working out hard enough anyway.

Well I dont actually get on the bike until maybe 30-45 min after my workout as I have to shower, drink my shake, walk on a treadmill for 15 min, etc. When I am done with my workout, I am ready to pass out until I drink my maltodextrin/dextrose/protein.
