how much are racetech springs that i can replace my front stock ones with and thicker fork oil what shop is best known for suspension setup in the Houston area?

Andy was who came to my mind ive heard he was the man for suspension work. I really dont feel like laying in Ben Tuab unable to move my legs becuase the forks gave out again........ Gonna make sure the shit gets done right this time by the time i get the bike out of the shop I might be able to right it again!

I guess i am looking for responses from people that have actually had some of the same work done im talking heavier oil, revalving, and racetech springs not just talking fork seals........thanks i might just pay the money to ship the fork legs to racetech directly:icon_bigg

but then again if u can send them right over then i would probably do that to. but i would check out Pat. because that one day with Red when we went to Andy he wasent that great with us seemed like he didnt even want us there dont remember if u were there with us or not.

Patrick is Racetech certified. I have ridden bikes he has worked on. Great stuff! PeteTLR on here has a GSX-R 750 that Patrick did and the thing rails like nobodies bussiness.

cool this is the type of information that i was looking for since its my life were talking about!

Im either gonna do the 929/954 front end swap with race tech springs or just do all of the above to my existing busted stock setup when i heal up imma start training for longest stoppies im going to stuntwars next year:icon_bigg

I wouldnt do the 929/954 swap, havent heard good things about that from people who did it, just throw some Hyperpro springs in there, works like a champ

+1 to metric, he did my racetech springs.

andy went to racetech school vs just gettins certified, it's like a 1 week program. patrick just went to the school a mos? or 2 ago.

Another option would be Marcus McBain at RPS: http://www.roadracinghelp.com/Start.htm

He's located NE side off the Beltway and Lake Houston area. Completely rebuilt my front forks, including NEW bushings, seals, straightening the shock tubes, custom length springs, and valved properly... then afterwards tuned at TWS. I am extremely satisfied with his work and will try to get him more business, whether it be for a simple suspension tune or a rebuild with all the goodies. Did I mention that he is trying to build a professional bike track locally?

talk to Tim at FI. He's rockin a f4i with the hyper pro springs and rollin em far. I agree with Matt on the front end swap. I just haven't heard much good come from it. But you can find me a front rim for a 929.

Yeah the springs do help with stoppies, I've always ran the stock springs on my bikes, but I've always had a liter bike front end and its been good enough for me.

Some people like the 929/954 front end and some don't. All the Dallas guys hate it and say it sucks. They keep stock f4i front end with heavier oil, new springs, etc.
But there are more people that prefer the 929/954 front end actually. Even Darius prefers the 929/54 front end on the f4i, along with tons of others. I have all the parts for mine now, going to find out soon.
Get better soon and I'll have some stock f4i front end parts if you decide to go that route.

What does the 929/954 front buy you, larger rotors, inverted forks, and clipons under the triple tree? Do you gain a radial master cylinder in the conversion?

Before I had my front shocks rebuilt/tuned I was looking into the conversion, but the components needed was a little out of my range of patience to collect on.

I'd respring it and just service the forks. If you want to get really serious I'd modify the compression and rebound valving to make it more controllable, so that way it compresses in a more linear fashion as you load it while doing an endo and then rebounds controllably at the end of it.

No radial master cylinder, typically when changing from standard to inverted forks you'll gain more weight, but also a bit more rigidity.

Just to clarify, I attended the same school as Andy, and while it was last year that I did so, I've been building winning racebike suspensions for almost 23 years.
The reason I attended the school was because despite 23 years of building suspension I would hear from some noob; "Well he's not Race Tech certified":gesture:
Billy Weise with WRW, who has more AMA experience than most people I know, attended the same school with me at the same time, for pretty much the same reasons.
