Even though me and Nick run pretty identical lap times based on our XT lap timers, you can clearly tell that nick was running a MUCH quicker session than me. Thanks for slowing down and letting me catch up...:eek3:

My BS excuse for not keeping up is that I was on a bike that is no longer mine and I wanted to make sure I didn't crash :keke::gesture: where did my 57's and 58's go???

...fastest lap of the day 2:01.4 :banghead::banghead:

and if you watch till the end.......there's a simple lesson to be learned

nice vid.. I like the lesson at the end. At least you were paying attention and noticed the rider, but true.. don't fixate. I'm no expert, so I'll let the faster guys critique your lines and body position. :D

I don't remember which bike you were, can't tell by the nose in the vid, but I was out there with you and Nick as well. Good times!

Ahh.. I know that bike, but didn't pay enough attention to remember it out there. I was in la la land most of the time, and don't pay attention to whom I'm passing. The only bike to pass me all day was #88 Honda black 1000RR, and one of the motards made a couple attempts in a corner or two but of course couldn't keep up in the straights.

it was so much fun I think its so weird watching myself ride. But none the less I was starting to shave some time off at the end of the day still getting used to that cbr. I had a blast riding around with chris all day.. That 1000 is smokin down the straights.

I was right with paul consistantly hitting 2.01s but of course the last session of the day when there was very little to no traffic I didnt turn my lap timer on. It was hard to get a good read out of yesterday because im sure as chris and paul can back me on this there were alot of packs out there and people were parking in the corners but thats what it is a trackday not a race and I had a great time.. Im slowly starting to figure that track out and that was the first time out there on an inline and the 2nd time on the cbr but honestly no regrets about the trade.

looking good nick

yeah bro missed you out there you need to come out to TWS on the 10th or 11th.

Yes, Yes.. TONS of traffic in Level 2!!! I felt faster than I did a couple weekends ago at MSR-H, but couldn't show it on the timer because I kept catching packs. I was wiggling my way through a pack of 5-7 riders in the front straight and diving into carousel and passing on the outside of that. Or buzzin peeps in the back straight going into the sweeper, only to catch the next rider(s) diving into Diamond's Edge. I can't WAIT to be the slowest rider in Level 4 in another track day or two!! Maybe TWS if I can pick up enough time there in a couple weeks!! :D

Sorry to any of the Level 2 riders I may have 'very slightly stuffed' diving into corners, if I did indeed do that. :-/ As I told people in the paddocks, yesterday was my day to truly start learning how to pass safely all over the track.

yeah chris I buzzed mel going into the carousel right in front of boss lady.. I felt like a jerk she didnt say anything so maybe she didnt realize it was me.. but it was hard with the traffic. But like every track day there are people who should stick around in level one and there are people in our group that could move up. But everybody was safe and got home in one piece so that is success in itself. I had a great time.. I wish I was as fast at TWS as I am at MSRH. For some reason I feel more comfortable at msrh.

Yeah, traffic was pretty bad yesterday. It wasn't like catching 2 or 3 bikes and then having room and catching 2 or 3 more......I would run up on a pack of like 6 bikes, late brake and dive in the middle then push through the rest in the straight, then open track for a lap and right back up on another group of 6 or so riders.......it was fun though. For the most part, everyone was staying pretty predictable and that made it safer to pass when the oportunity presented itself.

Yea, I buzzed Mel, Theresa, and Tiffany a few times.. and a few others. I can't wait til all these girls are all fast and we're all gunnin for each other out there!! I only got buzzed once, but he didn't really "buzz me". That guy on the all black CBR1000RR with #88 on the tail. It was his first time at MSR-H and by the afternoon, he was booking it. We had fun together in one session (the one he passed me). I got caught behind a slower rider at one point, and he rolled off on me. Other than that, I had fun keeping up with him. :happy3:

TRUE THAT!!! Props to most in Level 2!!! The rest will be there soon enough, and they'll be adjusting to the "new to 2" riders themselves!!

I was expecting a lot worse to be honest. That was my first day in level 2 and I figured I would be the slow guy out there. I was prepared to have everyone coming up to me in the paddocks telling me I am a fcuktard and need to get off the track. I have heard horror stories of people in lvl2 not knowing wtf it means to hold a line. However, everyone seemed to be steady for the most part and I was actually passing more than I was being passed!!!!
I did have my FCUK moments and did go off roading once, but all in all, GREAT DAY.

Good job then!!! My first day in Level 2 didn't scare me, but I was the slowest. Haha.. It was at TWS and my day ON that track. So two "firsts" for me in one day, and no instructors to work with at that time. (mine was sitting out due to getting crawfish spices in his eyes that morning from the night before)

I didn't say anything b/c it didn't bother me. It's not like you stuffed me & forced me to go wide. I expected to be passed. I figured you did it on purpose to fck with me.:keke:

& FWIW I like MSRH better then TWS as well...I still don't know my lines at TWS, as I've been shown around there by different instructors that take different lines, & I can't remember the "right" ones & "wrong" ones.

I saw you out there a few times, but I never passed you. I enjoyed being behind you too much to pass you!!! :keke: :leghump:

I kid, I kid..........don't keel me Mel

Explain

in my opinion, i think he means that there may be fast people who act like asshats in level 2.

level 1 has a much slower pace, but most people have enough time to get out of hairy situations. some level 2 people ride a faster pace but are really unpredictable to get around.

Close Paul........what he means is "Fcuk those guys can't keep a line and stay bunched up around the whole track. Fcuk it, I am going back to level 4"
The only reason I know that is what he meant is because that is what he said when bumped back up to level 4!!! :keke:

there were alot of riders and have been lately that like I said dont belong in level 2... alot slower but then again you dont get faster without stepping up. The track days are getting pretty crowded but it also makes taking different lines for passing and what not and really getting used to the track. I had fun but like chris and I have discussed you almost have to wait till 3 or 4 in the afternoon to put in a really good session to guage your progress.. TWS is a little better because you can pass anywhere and its a bigger track people dont get caught up in hairpin corners.. I had a great day for sure but as paul and chris saw we all got caught up when we were trying to run together..
