View Full Version : HUGE Protests this weekend....

It's happening again. Opponents of the proposed immigration legislation are going to be gathering in various places around the metroplex here to protest. Again, most will have no clue why they're out there and there's prolly going to be an a$$-load of Mexican flags which pisses me off more than anything. I was happy to here the local LULAC president speak out against the carrying of the Mexican flag and stating that they should be carrying the Stars and Stripes, instead.
I think it's BS but I am a HUGE supporter of their right to do it.

First things first:
As a Mexican immigrant myself I DO NOT condone illegal immigration...!!! You want to come to this country..?? Do it trough the legal channels...!!!! The USA is an "open doors policy" country, try to get legal residence status in any other countries and you will see...!!! USA is the best country in the world...!!! (besides our present Administration and the Industrial-Military complex running everything behind the scenes.)
I also disagree about waiving Mexican flags in USA soil and protesting AGAINST the US...!!!! That's no the way to do it and I agree that most people in the protest are youngsters that do not know what's going on. :angry5:
We need to analyze who's behind this protest and who really benefits (political) from all this.

By the way. I do have a Mexican flag and a USA flag. I like to hang the Mexican flag when is a Mexican celebration like "5 de Mayo" or September 16 (Mexican Independence Day).
But most of the time you will see the USA flag hanging outside my place. I also need to get me a flag about "Support our Troops" hanging all the time outside the house.

I can't imagine the turnout will be as big as it was during the weekdays...afterall, they'll have no reason to go--school isn't in session on Saturday and Sundays. :eh:
But on a serious note...do they have the right to protest? of course.
But do I agree with what they are protesting or the WAY they are going about doing it...(ie their actions as mentioned above)? Hell no.

The thing people don't understand about this whole situation and waiving another flag is... You want to be an American, then be one. It is that simple.

There was a big article in the UH paper about students protesting because they are now bringing up the whole deal with the State bill about education which basically says that even if you are here on an education visa, after you graduate you are still only on a visa and have no other privelages thereof.
They are protesting saying that people who have all their education here should be then like...considered a citizen upon graduation, etc etc....
Blah, that's not even the original issue but since alot of the people under the latter mentioned law are of the same ethnicity as the one being discussed in this thread, I figured it relevant.

See, this is what I don't understand. I just don't get why ANY AMERICAN would want to wave the flag of another country.
The only time I feel that a foreign flag should be flown or shown is during international competition, or political gatherings. In those cases, foreign nationals should be proud to wave *their* flag and to show support for their country.

Arthur: I was born and raised in Mexico and came (legally) to this great country when I was 35yo, Got my US Citizenship in 2002. I'm very proud of my new American Citizenship but I'm also proud of my Mexican heritage and like to show it by hanging my Mexican flag, but as I mentioned above, you will see the USA flag hanging outside my place for every American holiday and the Mexican flag only for two holidays.
Altough, in a SHTF scenario my allegiance is totally to the USA.
This the Oath that I swore in front of a Federal Judge and other Goverment officials when I got my US Citizenship:
"I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the armed forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God."

I've never met anybody who wasn't proud of their heritage. But IMO, flying a foreign flag does not show pride in ones heritage, it shows loyalty and allegiance to another nation.

My son goes to Klein Oak Highschool, fairly mixed population of races, and last week the ROTC raised the flag only to have a Hispanic kid come out and try and take it down to raise a Mexico flag......... My son was shocked and asked the kid does he even know what the bill is about ? Kid replied, nope man sure dont but its wrong. Principal had all flags removed pending racial tension and to avoid a possible outbreak. I got a letter from my sons Principal regarding this incident, and my response was ..........
Ummm What the **** ???? why not fly a Chinese flag too while we are at it ? I mean hell we're not in America or are we ?? Stupid ass uneducated Kids that dont have a clue where the hell they even live. Now I never been in Military due to a congenital heart defect, but I remember scouts and my Dads military values and as far as i am concerned trying to take down an American flag to replace with a Mexican flag on U.S. soil is grounds for a firing squad...... plain and simple.

For the very fifth time ever, the U.S. House or Representatives has passed, 286-130, a Constitutional Amendment banning physical desecration of the American Flag.
The Senate will probably vote after the July 4 recess, and according to the Cox wire, supporters of the Amendment think it has a better chance of achieving the requisite 67 votes for passage therein than it has had in the past.
`The Congress and the States shall have power to prohibit the act of desecration of the flag of the United States and to set criminal penalties for that act.'
I say WTF! why 5 times to get it passed?!!

so you want my government to take care of the problem for you and make your voice heard?
hmm..
if you cared for YOUR country, then why does it not bother you to see YOUR country's economy in trouble.
Ask yourself a simple question, Why is our economy in trouble?
easy answer: a goodly portion of the woe is the illegals , and this goes past the points of "they are good people", "they are doing what I would do" .
Simple point is : Its Illegal what they are doing.
Our government is at fault real world for not enforcing the immigration laws already in place and allowing this to go on for so long.
The Illegals are taxing our school system, and I'll explain:
it takes money to provide bi-lingual educators, it takes money to print all the books and literature in their language needed for the education of illegals. This service is paid for by TAX PAYERS and property owners.
The illegals are taxing our hospital system: Self explanatory, take a ride to ben taub if you wanna argue this point, and all of this cost tons of money for the TAX PAYERS.
The illegals are taxing our social services system, again, this is self explanatory and is paid for by the TAX PAYERS.
all of the above is facts that are not arguable, they are facts and to argue it isn't so, is asinine.
Now , do I have an answer as to how to deal with this.
Nope, but I do feel we need to enforce the laws we have and I'm mad at my government for their lack of enforcement.
I do feel, as an employer, I will do my part, I will write my letters and hope they get in the right pile.
I will only hire immigrants that go through the appropriate system to come to our country, and I will support them in their efforts to do the right thing.
get angry with me all you want, these are the facts and its the sad truthful facts

^ and another thing that irritates me, is that we will give them a drivers test in their own language and once they get a drivers license, they get the right to vote in our elections! burns my ass deluxe, illegaly here, but yet have the power to sway our elections. No other coutry allows this.
again, proof positive our government sux.
This is another real reason the congress will do nada about them, can't piss off a voter base that size.

if you cared for YOUR country, then why does it not bother you to see YOUR country's economy in trouble.
Ask yourself a simple question, Why is our economy in trouble?
easy answer: a goodly portion of the woe is the illegals , and this goes past the points of "they are good people", "they are doing what I would do" .
it does bother me but you never read anywhere where i have stated i support them, marched, etc. my only point ive ver made is dont pass judgemet on all of them until you actually realize there are more people out there, who are illegal, but not taking advantage of the situation.
oh yeah, the economy is in trouble thats why im posting on high speed internet, riding a motorcycle, paying $3 for gas, eating out, riding in a new car, paying taxes that coincide with my pay.

You’re nothing but a bigot. Calling me holmes? I know what you’re trying to say so why don’t you just call me spic? For your ****ing information I was born here and my parents are also naturalized citizens. So you making comments about getting on the bus to get deported is uncalled for and just RACIST. I obviously hit nerve for your TRUE COLORS to rise up your narrow minded son of a bitch. As far as you shooting me, go ahead, but don’t make any threats to me anymore because unlike others here I am active in the meets and will not be hard to find. You bring your gun and keep the gun loaded and I will come without one because I don’t have any self-esteem issues.
:eek3: grow up punk, and I dont remember seeing any threats from my posts. but i'll remember yours, as your mindset or lack of it is clear.

Freudian Projection
The following is a collection of definitions of projection from orthodox psychology texts. In this system the distinct mechanism of projecting own unconscious or undesirable characteristics onto an opponent is called Freudian Projection.
* "A defense mechanism in which the individual attributes to other people impulses and traits that he himself has but cannot accept. It is especially likely to occur when the person lacks insight into his own impulses and traits."
* "The externalisation of internal unconscious wishes, desires or emotions on to other people. So, for example, someone who feels subconsciously that they have a powerful latent homosexual drive may not acknowledge this consciously, but it may show in their readiness to suspect others of being homosexual."
* "Attributing one's own undesirable traits to other people or agencies, e.g., an aggressive man accuses other people of being hostile."
* "The individual perceives in others the motive he denies having himself. Thus the cheat is sure that everyone else is dishonest. The would-be adulterer accuses his wife of infidelity."
* "People attribute their own undesirable traits onto others. An individual who unconsciously recognises his or her aggressive tendencies may then see other people acting in an excessively aggressive way."
* "Projection is the opposite defence mechanism to identification. We project our own unpleasant feelings onto someone else and blame them for having thoughts that we really have."

Rediculous, it is okay to have a difference of opinions in this country. Speak openly about them but, please try not to be violent.

Nor have you had any objection to what is going on. Only ridicule for those of us who speak out against illegals not legals. So?
Deficit goes up every day to give U.S. citizens the freedom to voice our opinions. Someone illegal has no right to do so. But we are allowing it, try it in a socialist country, or any other, see how far you get. Burn their flag you will get your a.. shot and no one will care. Here you'll have lawyers like flies on stink trying to rake anyone they can.
