Take all the fairings off, sand them, primer them, and take them to Maaco. Shouldn't cost you more than a few hundred bucks.

They do a good job paint-wise, I believe they'll repaint it for you if they **** it up...
they don't do ANY prep work though, that's why they're so cheap. I would NEVER take a bike to them, or a car for that matter, and pay for a paintjob, UNLESS I had already done all the prepwork and taping and such.

you goto macco the paint wil fall of after you hit a few bumps in the road:keke: \
seriously, consider quality paint, the pearls are a bit expensive comparied to a solid color... if your pocket isn't deep and you dont want to shell out around 350 for paint alone, then you could go with a solid color and to drop the price more go with a cheaper brand paint..... here"s my baby, I posted it in another thread, just finished it last week 24 hours from start to finish. bike has not even been colorsanded and buffed yet, i'll get to that next week, then put my mirror emblems on..

it will take more than a pint, there's a lot of plastic on that bike. my car is a pearl white, it's a tri color. I think you got a high price because there is more to it than a base coat and a clear coat. they need to lay the base and then the tint, to get the pearl... you would find by purchasing the paint you would buy more than needed. it's better to have more than to start painting and run short of material...

Yes more than a pint of paint will be needed. you have the preping of the parts, a sealer will be needed, base coat clear coat, reducer, hardner it's takes way more than a pint of paint to refinish anything. My cost alone on a gallon of clear is $ 202.00 don't forget about hardner. sealer, the paint and the skills of my painter, as I stated b4 you get what u pay for.

Yes, Jason did paint fuel tank for my bike and he did a great job. His price is really reasonable. He even give me the left over paint back for future use.

Well as of today, Maaco does prep-work, i actually talked to the owner of one of the establishments here in pasadena, her name is debbie. She said they have been doing alot of bikes lately, and if they mess it up or your not satisfied, they will do it over again. All she said was to bring in your bike and tell them what u want.
