We had a walkout when I was in HS. It was because they were towing cars in the school parking lot without warning.

Everyone who walked out (about 100 kids) were not allowed to park on school property for two weeks and were given detention.

Here is why I support strict immigration laws...

The Cliff Notes version anyway.

- My mother teaches ESL (English as a Second Language) at a public school.
- Surely some of the kids in her classes are here illegally, the 'fresh overs'
- We have a teacher shortage as it is, bi-lingual 'certified' teachers? even fewer.
- In some cases they are given a bilingual teacher THAT DOESN"T SPEAK A WORD OF SPANISH :laughing6
- Class work in that case, mhmm.. time to color, just keep 'em quiet.
- That was one of the classes my mom took over.
- She was scolded for giving them actual lessons.. :confused1
- Then she was scolded for 'allowing' them to take the TAAS tests (or whatever it's called) for fear they would lower the overall average and make the school look bad.
- Her students among the top scorers in the school. :keke:

- I think they are back to coloring again :eh:


People come here for a better life sure, and the worst America has to offer might even be a step up from where they are from.

But without infrastructure in place to handle their needs, we aren't doing them or ourselves any favors. The kids aren't getting the education, the parents are being exploited as cheap labor for long hours and are not able to provide the family care the youngin's need. Youngin's having youngin's and the cycle continues.

My father is in the construction business in NY. The houses cost a lot more because they're built much better (have to withstand snow) and much more strict on the building codes. Not to mention the labor costs are a lot higher. It took 10 guys about a year to build 1 house. The house will probably last 200 years though.

exaclty. there isnt that much land in cali to buil on since half of it is desert or on mountains that have mudslide problems.

new york doesnt have that much land left since businesses reloctae their all the time and bring more people. thats why you see all the apartments in 50 story buildings. thats plus its a old city with growing families.
