"I had the carbs totally cleaned had them re jetted to a stage 3 cause of the new pipe and K&N pods and I got them synced. It ran like crap at the low idle and it was shutting down before they were synced but it runs just fine now at just above 1000 rpms.

My problems is starting after the motor cools off. If I squirt some starting fluid on the two outside air pods (4 carbs engine) it starts right up and it runs just fine. Why is the not getting the fuel even with the choke engaged? With the starting fluid I have to give it a full trottle to get the fuel going and to start. btw.. .the fuel/air mixture screws were set to 3 turns out according to Dynojet, and the choke is working. I got the gas tank off and I'm getting the fuel from a gravity fed bottle above the bike. The battery is good and I did replace the rubber caps over the vacuum ports where the sync gauges connect. It just seems to me that it's sucking some air somewhere.

When the engine is hot, there is no problems, it starts right up. The only thing I did not replace are the o-rings on the intake manifolds and I will put some sealer on the metal cover that go on top of the carbs - over the diaphrams. Does anyone know a good carb mechanic in SW Houston. Most of the dealer people know just as much as my dog about problems like this.

What kind of bike do you have?
It could just be too lean on the idle circuit, or the carbs could be in a "false synch".
When the carbs were synched, how much vacuum was it pulling?
In other words, the butterflies are all open the same amount vacuum-wise, but are too far open, allowing the bike to feed off the pilot jet circuit instead of the idle circuit.

All four carbs were synced to just below -5 on the gauges.
