Anyone ever tried it? I've heard the food is miserably bad, but that it works. The hardest part of getting in shape, for me, is diet. I don't have a lot of time to cook (because I spend most of my free time either training or riding), and I just plain LOVE food. So having it pre-packaged for me would make things a lot easier.

eh...the food is gross for sure lol. my sister in law did it and lost lots of weight, but as soon as she stopped she gained it back again.

i have seen the food at biglots for $1 a piece instead of the $2-5 it is ordering from nutrisystem.

That is a danger as you never learn to eat properly on your own so once you start cooking for yourself, you go right back to eating like crap.

Their food (as most packaged food) is LOADED with salt. Something to keep in mind.

And +1 on what everyone else said.

I tried it and hated the food. Quit after 2 weeks. I find myself eating lean cuisines and smart ones(which taste wayyy better IMO). Working out is the biggest step I think though. If your metabolism sucks you HAVE to go to the gym. No way around that.

I've been eating better and working out for almost 2 months now and I'm down 13lbs.

As with everything, this has to be a lifestyle change. Once you go back to bad habits you will gain the weight back.

My aunt actually tried that, and i tasted it one time. They are beyond gross. Do what AjFlo said, lean cuisines taste better and are just as good for u. I ate those before, and just watch ur proportions and work out regularly and its better then crap

Also, check out the Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers. I'm not a fan of packaged food, but these things taste great and are an alternative when you're in a huge hurry.

I've got the workout locked down. I just struggle with diet. I'm italian. Eating is like the national pastime. When I'm in good company I want to stuff my face to enjoy it more, and when I'm bored/stressed/lonely I eat to make myself feel more content. I just thought that maybe if I could stick to a pre-packaged diet where its hard to overeat, I'd make some serious progress.

I have about the same problem. I love food! Let me rephrase that. I love the taste of food. I would eat even when I was full just for the satisfaction of taste.

I see where you might be going with this. If you are going to eat might as well eat stuff that is better than highly processed fast food. If you plan on doing that I highly suggest you get some Healthy frozen dinners. Try them all and see which ones you like the best. Keep them stocked in your freezer and when you have the urge to eat pop one in and there you go.

I'm worst than just loving the taste. Being stuffed is relaxing for me. So when I'm stressed the fsck out (you know....like every day after dealing with I-45 traffic) I stuff my fat face.

Try eating 6-7 times a day. That way you always get to eat but eat the right things with the correct calorie count for you.

Tried that, and the only way I had any success was being hungry all day. Needless to say..............it was hard to stick to.

Not to mention preparing the 3-4 meals I need to eat at work is a PITA and requires more time than I really have.

You have time I promise you that you do. All it really takes is an hour total one night for the week to prepare your food for the whole week. It all comes down to how bad do you want to make the change.

I cook all my chicken and whatever else, weight it, and package it allllll up then all i have to do is reach in the fridge and grab for the day and put it in a cooler.

if you want to succeed in a diet you need to change your whole perspective on food and make it a lifestyle change. if not anything you do is only temporary.

A lady I used to work with has been on it for a while now. Last time I saw her, she had lost 120lbs in 1 year. I got an email from her a few weeks ago.. She's now lost a total of 180lbs and has pretty much reached her target weight. An amazing difference in her life. She also won 10,000 from nutrisystem. :thumb:

:-/ I am with you 100%. EVERYBODY in my family, save my sister and a couple of cousins, is obese- not just a bit, but morbidly so. We are also Italian, and our social lives revolve around food. My gramma spent her entire life in the kitchen cooking for seven kids and their SO's and 27 grand and great grand kids. We always ATE. I've been 200lbs- I know.

So- being in your same 'addicted' to food situation how did I lose it? You won't like my answer. :-/ One day I decided I would rather be thin than eat 'that'. And so it began. I also worked out regularly, but I ate a lot less. Not by eating healthier, per se, but by eating less- less times a day, because eating less at each meal was just not going to happen. Once I start eating, I don't stop until I'm popping. :er:

Good luck- I have no advice for you. You just have to decide it's time to do it, and then change your habits. Trust me- you CAN do it. :thumb:

I really don't. In order for me to get 8 hours of sleep I have to be ASLEEP at 9:30. Last night..........I was eating dinner at 9. Thats with me cooking while taking a shower after the gym. There's no point in eating right if you can't get the appropriate amount of sleep.

i cant put in on any info about nutrisystems. sorry

but i can offer advice that you do a couple of things that dramatically shed pounds. my best friend who was 220 lbs, and lost 90 lbs within this past 9 months. her target is range is 115 lbs.

1. stop eating ANYTHING that needs to be packaged or preserved.

2. DO NOT eat anything WHITE. NOTHING. (starch/carb wise)

3. drink NOTHING but WATER. or FRESH juices. avoid anything with chemicals/ preservatives to maintain a fresh "taste". no cola, no coffee. no beer. NONE. for the first month or so (just to get used to it)

If this is what it takes to get thin, I'm going to be a fatty forever. I RARELY get a full nights sleep, I CANNOT go through a day without coffee.

All of which is a ****load easier for someone not working 9 hour days in an office environment with a 30 minute commute.

Trust me, I understand the theory. Applying in the real world is anything but easy.

Oh I forgot to add. I do not follow this to the T everyday! I am not wanting to kill myself. I do eat stuff that is not extremely healthy on occasion, like when I am at a restaurant or a meet and greet. I try to make better decisions when I am eating out though.

Also on Saturdays our company provides lunch so I eat whatever they provide. Sometimes its sandwiches from Jasons Deli, BBQ, Fried Chicken. I use that as a "cheat" meal

I'm trying to make a lifestyle change in order to reach my goal and maintain it.
