I received a letter in the mail yesterday from Ballys wanting to "work with me." I got shafted when I joined the gym, and basically, I told them to fck off. Now, Ballys is offering a 1yr free membership when I pay my "obligated contract" dues totaling ~$700. Though, reading the letter, it's as if they only put that offer in the letter to catch my attention and doesn't change shit. If I don't pay, it's reported on my credit. Ballys is decietful, and I got pwned. :banghead: I don't want to 'work with them' them because of their swindled style. This company misleads and conceals truth. But if I must, I will grow up and pay so that it isn't reported.
Has anyone been on the same boat? Watcha do?

May not be anything you can do but they have filed for bankruptcy and are closing clubs all over the country. I would try to fight on the premise that they are closing clubs you might use - which were open when you signed the contract - call up some TV station and the BBB for help.

Bally has 375 operating clubs, and Scudder estimates that Bally could close up to 200 of them

my old apartments tried to screw me over.. I stayed the length of my lease, payed on time every month, never any issues except for a door that i punched a hole through. But that's nothing. I went to the office to ask if there's any paperwork i need to take care of before i leave and they said i was suppose to signed a sheet letting them know i was going to move out.
I was like.... what? All the sudden 3 weeks before i'm out, they tell me i was suppose to give a 3 month notice that i was vacating.. I don't f***in think so.. so they told me that i will have to pay them 3 months rent even though i had already moved out by then. My "rent" went from $710 to $920/month for the 3 months and i basically told them to shove it up their ass.
They sent me a total bill in the mail which somehow totaled $4,300.00 !!!
Unless you planning on renting your entire life this is the only time this would hurt my credit so i kept telling them that the check is in the mail... fu** em..
They don't deserve a f***in penny... That's my .02

Ballys is the worst gym to deal with. I had a monthly deal going with them that wasn't bad, but when I quit, they continued billing my card for 3-4 months. Ofcourse I had been calling them and emailing them each month. Finally they stopped the billing and I got a 2 month credit back.... Still F'd me for $70 though..... bastards.
Now they send me emails all the time wanting to join. They can get F'd in their dirty ass gym.....

Don't pay them, and have your credit card company pull your credit report.
Amex will do it for free.
Then dispute it with the three creidt buroas. (Trans Union, Experion and Equifax)
